Grooming

A rough-coated Jack Russell Terrier has to be groomed several times a year. Grooming means to grasp a few adjoining hairs between the thumb and forefinger and to pull it in the direction of growth. When the hair is ready for grooming, it is easy to pull out. This procedure does not hurt the dog.

Begin at the neck...   ... and work along the back.

There is usually more hair on shoulders and throat...   ... then under the throat and along the sides of the body...

... then the chest... ... sometimes grooming is even a pleasure...

... scissors can be used for the sensitive areas on the belly ... ... and genitals...

... groom the long hair from the tail... ... now legs ...

... and paws... ... scissors can be used for the hair between the toes.

...   .. and the grooming is finished!
